A 5-in-1 bulb planter creates consistent 2 1/8-inch-diameter holes from a standing position for bulbs, annuals, ground covers and vegetables. ProPlugger model P246XL stores extracted soil inside its carbon-steel tube as you step, twist and pull, letting you make a sequence of planting holes before emptying the tool upside down.

Interchangeable depth rings set each hole at 2, 4 or 6 inches, and rubber-and-silicone grips help protect your hands while reducing bending and kneeling. The same tool can remove deep taproot weeds, collect soil samples, place drip-edge fertilizer and cut plugs for compatible creeping lawns. It is not recommended for St. Augustine grass, and it should not be used in soil that is dry or overly saturated.
