Dual-Gradient Whole House Sediment Filter, 10 x 4.5 Inch, with 1-, 5- or 25-Micron Pack Options

A dual-gradient whole house sediment filter traps dirt, sand, silt and rust before those particles reach appliances, plumbing or downstream cartridges. Pentair Pentek DGD media increases in density from the outside toward the core, giving the filter up to three times the stated dirt-holding capacity and greater effective depth than similar-size sediment cartridges.

Each polypropylene cartridge fits compatible 10-inch Big Blue and other heavy-duty housings that accept a 10-by-4.5-inch element. Choose 1-, 5- or 25-micron ratings in one-, two- or eight-packs; an additional eight-pack is labeled only Big Blue Water Filter. The detailed 5-micron DGD-5005 has less than 1 psi pressure drop at 10 GPM and a recommended six-month change interval, or earlier when pressure or water quality declines. NSF/ANSI 42 certification covers material requirements.
